PUBLIC MEETING: Our environment and democracy is under attack. What are we going to do about it?

Please join ECNT campaigners for a Public Meeting to hear how ECNT and the broader NT environmental movement plans to remain strong against the swathe of regulatory rollbacks that have been proposed and rushed through by the Finocchiaro CLP Government.

Since their election last year, the NTG has sought to rush through authoritarian laws giving an unelected bureaucrat the power to exempt projects like fracking and cotton from environmental laws altogether, and remove community scrutiny and transparency measures like merits review of fracking, water, and planning decisions.

This is a government that is deep in the pockets of the gas industry, mining executives, and Big Cotton, and is terrified of scrutiny and accountability.

Despite being defunded and demonised by our government, we know we can't to stop holding those in power to account and fighting for the Territory’s nature. The CLP Government remains committed to rolling out some of the most environmentally destructive projects the Territory has ever seen.

It's more important than ever to come together to plan what's next.

At this meeting, we will discuss what the regulatory rollback means for the Territory's nature, and how the community can continue to stand up for nature and a safe climate in such trying times.

Light refreshments provided. Please RSVP.
