Become a member and support our work. You get our Turtle Times ( newsletter) in your email every 3 weeks, receive campaign materials and information that help you take action for a better Territory, and invitations to members-only events.

Volunteer with us. Volunteering can be highly rewarding, fun and important. Join our great team of volunteers by helping in the office, supporting a campaign or program, attending public demonstrations, or doing research.

Nominate to join the Board of the Environment Centre NT. As a Director you would be responsible for the governance of the organisation and setting the organisation’s strategic direction.

Join our Territory Defenders program for as little as $20 a month so our campaigns & programs to help us be more effective.

Go to the great COOLmob  website and find out about sustainable living and home energy use. Download the latest COOLmob report ‘Smart Cooling in the Tropics – low energy efficiency program’ – (get to the front page by scrolling past the first blank one – sorry!)’.

Write submissions to proposed new laws, draft policies or proposed developments. Anybody can make a real difference. The Environment Centre NT works to ensure development is appropriate and sustainable for all Territorians. We encourage you to have your say by writing submissions.

Write letters to the editor of key newspapers, such as the NT News, The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald or The Age.

Call local radio during talkback shows and raise your issues. You can call ABC Darwin on 1300 057 222 or email them, ABC Alice Springs, call Territory FM on 1800 808 588 or email them, call Mix FM on 08 8941 1155, or Radio Larrakia.

Seek a meeting with your local Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory, local council or Australian Parliament.

There are many local community groups to get involved with – great people, great fun, great causes. Joint their Facebook pages, view their websites, join their organisations, volunteer. You will be most welcome. A list of local community environmental groups is posted here.
