Closing Day- Darwin Ferry Planning Consultation
The Northern Territory Government is investigating future ferry services in and around Darwin Harbour over the next 50 years.
The government wants to find out where Territorians would prefer to catch a ferry in the future and what infrastructure would be needed if they did.
The study is looking at 15 potential sites and the existing Cullen Bay and Mandorah sites, assessing them according to: population growth over 50 years, economic and tourism potential, environmental and cultural sensitivities, physical characteristics including water depth, land availability, access and weather conditions, infrastructure needs, range of users, links to existing transport routes (cycling, pedestrian, public transport, road and rail) and community benefits.
People can provide feedback by visiting ferryplanning.nt.gov.au to look at the potential locations for future ferry sites and infrastructure and:
- show us where you would catch a ferry on an interactive map (1 – 2 mins)
- fill in a quick survey (2 – 3 mins)
- give us your feedback on each specific site (4 – 5 mins)
- make a submission.
People can provide feedback by contacting 8981 6445 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The consultation closes on 13 December 2017.
